Nathaniel Dolquist
Nathaniel has tutored full-time in New York City and Los Angeles since he graduated from Yale University in 2015. His students have emerged victorious from the ISEE, SSAT, SHSAT, ACT, SAT, AP, and IB exams, as well as increased in-class test scores with his help and guidance. Every one of his standardized test students has gotten into at least one of their top three schools, with some winning hundreds of thousands of dollars in scholarships.

Clio C.
Clio has worked as a tutor in New York City since 2015. Her students have mastered new skills, improved their SAT scores by hundreds of points, and gone on to attend some of the most prestigious universities in the country. She is passionate about teaching and developing relationships with her students, and works to give them both the support they need now and the confidence they will need to excel in the future.

Carter M.
Carter has had the pleasure of tutoring students of all ages, from 10-19, in many different subjects for the past 5 years. He specializes in standardized testing for the ACT, SAT, and ISEE, and has helped almost 200 students reach their test goals for junior and senior year.

Stephanie graduated from Yale University with a BA in Psychology. During her senior year at Yale, Stephanie independently founded an SAT prep class for underprivileged students at a local New Haven high school, thus sparking her passion for education.

Karen H.
Karen Hudes is a writer and editor whose work has appeared in the New York Times, New York Magazine and Tin House, among others. She earned a BA in Comparative Literature at Brown University and an MFA in fiction writing at Hunter College. Karen loves working with students to help them find their story, connect with the reader, and complete a powerful work of self-expression.

Alex A.
Alex is a Brooklyn lifer with a Bachelor’s in Mathematics from NYU who is currently working on a PhD in Data Science. He has been tutoring since high school, and during his college career was tutoring students in all levels of undergraduate math. He is currently an instructor at NYU, and has taught Precalculus, Calculus, as well as Probability and Statistics courses.

Ian B.
Ian is a PhD student in Environmental Engineering at Columbia University. He has extensive experience teaching science and math at all levels from elementary school to advanced undergraduate courses. He also has helped dozens of students with test prep, including the SAT, ACT, ISEE, SSAT, and GRE exams, and in the past was a public speaking tutor at Yale University.

Cosima C.
Cosima was born an raised in Los Angeles. She was Salutatorian of her high school and graduated with a 4.56 GPA before moving on to Yale, where she graduated with Distinction in Literature. She is also fluent in French and Spanish and had a trilingual upbringing, studying at the Lycée International de Los Angeles for elementary school and La Escuela Argentina on the weekends.

Harrison B.
Harrison is an energetic and encouraging educator with experience helping students of all abilities reach their goals. He’s been tutoring and teaching for over ten years, working both privately and at some of the best private schools in New York City. When he’s not teaching he works as a writer for television. He loves helping students build their confidence, especially in subjects that they’re a little anxious about.

Gabrielle H.
Gabrielle graduated Yale University in 2015 with a double major in English and Theater Studies, winning both English Department and Senior Thesis prizes; during that time, she also spent a year working for the Yale Admissions Office. After college, Gabrielle lived in Washington, DC, where she served in the artistic department of a regional theater. She’s now returned to Yale, where she’s pursuing an MFA/PhD in Dramaturgy & Dramatic Criticism at the Drama School.

Maya D.
Maya has been teaching students for over 20 years, since she was an undergraduate at NYU studying linguistic anthropology. In addition to college admissions exams such as the SAT and ACT, Maya has years of experience preparing students for the SHSAT, ISEE, SSAT, and even GRE and GMAT. She has also helped students with AP tests, Regents exams, and entrance exams to NYC schools such as Hunter and Lab.

Max E.
Max Edelstein graduated summa cum laude in 2022 from the University of Pennsylvania, where he studied Cognitive and Computer Science. He has been tutoring professionally for the ACT, SAT, math, and computer science for over three years, and believes in a personalized approach to tutoring, tailoring study plans to each student’s personality and learning style.

Daniel F.
Daniel was basically born in school—his parents are both English professors—and has never really left! He went to the University of Texas in Austin (his hometown), where he majored in English and French literature and Chinese language while minoring in neuroscience.

Dylan graduated Yale College in 2020 with a degree in Musical Theatre Composition. He is an experienced middle and high school tutor who has helped students across the country with the SAT, ACT, ISEE, analytic and personal essay writing, academic subject coaching, and the college application process.

Gil S.
Gil has a BS in Chemistry from Wesleyan University and an MSEE from Columbia University, where he was awarded The Jacob Millman Prize for Excellence in Teaching. In addition to teaching at Columbia, he has also taught engineering classes at New York City Technical College and ACT test prep at Cristo Rey High School.

Hattie S.
Hattie is a tutor, mentor, and visual artist living in Brooklyn, NY. After graduating magna cum laude from Williams College–where a plan to become an engineer magically morphed into a dream for teaching–she taught math and art at a New York middle school for students with language based learning disabilities.

Troy S.
Troy has always had a passion for helping students achieve their potential and strives to share his joy for math and science with them. He began private tutoring in math, physics, chemistry, and standardized testing over a decade ago while he was still in high school himself. Since then, has been conducting research as a Ph.D. candidate in theoretical physics at the University of Maryland.

Lucía S.
Lucía, a PhD student in Comparative Literature, is a college instructor and writing tutor as well as an occasional translator from Spanish and French into English. Although she’s worn many hats (high school English teacher, freelance journalist, to name a few), she considers herself a lifelong learner. She can’t wait to be part of your journey!

Nolan R.
Nolan graduated from Bard College with a Bachelor’s Degree in Physics.
He has worked for the Bard Prison Initiative for three years, where he designed and taught High School Equivalency classes in Math, Science, Social Studies, and Writing. He has years of experience tutoring HS math, Calculus I and II, Physics, General Chemistry and Biology, as well as for the ACT, SAT, and SHSAT exams.
