Studies and research suggest that the most productive session length is 52 minutes.

Session length varies by student: some need more, some less. We recommend starting with one-hour sessions and then reevaluating based on the student’s needs.

Session rates vary based on tutor and subject. One-on-one sessions start at $120 an hour, and asynchronous essay feedback starts at $60 per set of notes.

Most of our sessions take place over Zoom. However, some of our tutors do travel to families’ homes or public locations for lessons.

The tutor and parent will discuss what additional homework might be assigned. For test prep, additional homework is usually vital; for academic subjects, less so.

We believe that homework should always be of high quality, not necessarily high quantity, so any additional work will be tailored to the exact needs of the student. We do not assign “busy work”.

Our tutors go through a rigorous interview process and must prove their mastery of any material they wish to teach.

When we interview, we look not only at a tutor’s own understanding, but at how clearly and effectively they can communicate it to a student. We search for  dynamic, fun, charismatic tutors who will connect well with their students and make the learning process as easy as possible.

We match tutors with students based on both personality and experience. In our view, finding a good match is the most important part of the process so that the student can feel motivated and at ease.

If for any reason you feel a tutor is not a good match for your student, please let us know so that we can find someone who will create an easy, collaborative connection. Our goal is always to make sure that you and your student get the most out of your tutoring experience.

Once you’re ready to start lessons, you will receive an email inviting you to create an account.

Para trabajar con nosotros, debe tener una tarjeta de crédito válida registrada. Lamentablemente, no aceptamos efectivo, cheques, Venmo ni PayPal.

Puedes cancelar tu clase por cualquier motivo con al menos 24 horas de antelación. Por respeto a nuestros profesores, cobraremos las clases que se cancelen o reprogramen dentro de ese plazo de 24 horas.

Si necesita reprogramar o cancelar su clase, avísenos lo antes posible. Por supuesto, podemos hacer excepciones en caso de enfermedad o emergencia.
